In the early 1930s, Ford astutely recognized that innovative styling was paramount for sales success. No longer would the buying public make a purchase based on high quality at a low price; the car needed to have a pleasing form as well as full functionality. Ford met the demand with resounding success, refining their 1934 offerings with updated styling and modest, yet innovative mechanical improvements. This strategy, combined with the company’s effective marketing, culminated in one of their most appealing products to date. Over 102,000 units of the handsome Ford V8 Sedan were built in 1934, and Ford continued to outsell the competition to remain a market leader.
While the early history of this charming V8 Deluxe Sedan is unknown, William Alley acquired it in Texas circa 2000 — an attractive addition to his stable of early American automobiles. Presented in largely unrestored condition, this V8 features a dark blue paint scheme highlighted by light-colored wire wheels and thin pinstripes. The patinated interior is also nicely preserved, with a soft and subtle charm of originality.
Benefiting from a recent reawakening after a term of static storage, this beautiful and stylish V8 Deluxe Sedan with sophisticated looks and a legendary V-8 powerplant is sure to be the subject of affection at most any motoring event.
