No lineage has done more for Ferrari than the mid-engine V-8 supercars. Starting with the 308 in 1975, this has long been the brand’s volume seller, and is known for offering stunning looks, exciting powerplants, and reasonable levels of practicality. Although many generations have been evolutionary rather than revolutionary, the 458 Italia of 2010 is an exception. One of the final Ferraris designed in tandem with Pininfarina, the 458 Italia introduced numerous technical advancements, making it the most everyday usable car from the company to that point.

Starting with the 360 Challenge Stradale, Ferrari began introducing rawer, more track-focused variants of its mid-engine V-8 lineup, and for the 458, it was called the Speciale. Debuting at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 458 Speciale was immediately identifiable from its vented front bonnet, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, and side sills with fins to guide the air. The interior was stripped out, with no carpets, lightweight bucket seats, and reduced sound deadening, while the engine received an additional 35 hp for a total of 597 hp at the car’s 9,000 rpm power peak.

This 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale was delivered new via Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale in Florida and currently shows 4,636 miles. Finished in pearlescent Bianco Italia, it is believed that this is the only 458 Speciale painted in this color, accented by a black-painted roof. The lightweight forged five-spoke wheels are also finished from the factory in satin black and sit in front of red-painted brake calipers. This Speciale’s unique side skirt fin is finished in bare carbon fiber, a theme that carries through to the engine bay. Beneath the transparent engine cover lies a 4.5-liter V-8 with a carbon fiber air box and carbon fiber intake plenums with red accents.

The interior of this Speciale is a stunning combination of Alcantara and carbon fiber, which covers nearly every surface. The carbon fiber bucket seats are wrapped in black Alcantara with white deviated stitching and a Cavallino embroidered on the headrests. Additionally, the rear firewall and parcel-shelf area are wrapped in Alcantara, as is the dashboard. Extensive interior carbon fiber on this car includes carbon fiber shift paddles, gauge surrounds, door cards, and steering wheel with carbon fiber on the top and bottom, as well as LED shift lights along the top rim.

The 458 Speciale marks the end of the line for Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V-8s and is the ultimate blend of performance and driver involvement. This Speciale is presented in excellent condition and has a desirable specification, making it a thrilling addition to any collection.
